Adain Avion & Archigram

The concept for Adain Avion resonates with the speculative research projects of Archigram, the avant-garde architectural group established in the mid-sixties.

Their ‘Instant City’ project proposed a floating mobile facility carrying information, education and entertainment services that would be temporarily grafted onto a town acting as a catalyst to stimulate frenzied local action and activity. The effect was a deliberate over-stimulation to produce a heady mix of mass culture and the whole endeavour was intended to eventually move on leaving behind advanced technology hook-ups…..we are aiming for a similar effect…leaving behind an effervescent and long lasting residue.
